Bollywood's most popular and beautiful actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan created a buzz at the box office with her return to the silver screen with the Tamil film Pooneen Salon One. Famous Indian director Mani Ratnam's new film which released on September 30 opened the box office in its first week. 325 million trades in total.
The film was declared the third highest grosser of all time.
It is to be noted that the story of the film is based on the life of one of the great emperors of India, Raja Raja Chola. Punayan Ceylon 1 was a title given to the Tamil people by King Raja Chola. He belonged to the Chola dynasty that ruled the Tamil country from the 9th century to the 13th century. The film is based on the Tamil novel Punyan Ceylon 1 ok salman bhai.
